its free to upgrade from 10 to 10.1 - only when the big number on the left increases does it cost
That may or may not be true in the future.  We don't make commitments about future pricing.

Well, since 10.0 turns out not to have any of the features that were at least hinted at and which helped induce me to buy the upgrade, I for one would be rather annoyed if I also had to pay for 10.1 (but even more annoyed, I suppose, if I still didn't get the features*).

(* For the record, my top priority features were ripping multiple tracks together, and dynamic playlists on iPod. )

Well since we are on the topic (sort of),  MC 10 doesn't do anything for me either that was already in 9.1.  As sad is it might be, the things I find important are not very important to the rest of the community or at least not to JRiver.

All that said, MC 9.1 still does more for me than any other player, so I really have nothing to complain about.

I believe that MusicLobby support is important to you, John.  We added the ability to convert any image to a standard JPG (on Mario's request).

That is VERY important to me.  I didn't realize that was implemented.  I tried it on the .097 relase and it did not seem to be implemented.  I would be very interested in seeing that work.  That one alone would be worth the price of admission for me.  Of couse all my other multi zone multi server stuff is still holding me back from having the best Music Server platform on the planet, but I am a patient man.

I think Mario had to add something in his software.

I'm using MJ8 with a MJ7 license.  I don't suppose I qualify for the $15 deal?

I received the email and saw the upgrade price of $9.98 from Media Centered 9.1 to 10.0. I had 9.1 install and registered but when I went in and installed 10.0 and went to the "Buy" option under help, I was charged $24.98. What's going on? I even found the $9.98 on the web site.  :(

It means that no V8 or V9 license was installed when you purchased.

raicard -
I had the same problem you have but found a way around it.  Here's what I did:
  • Installed MC 10
  • Went to Help/Restore License from Internet...
  • You'll be prompted to enter your registration code.  Enter your 9.1x registration code
  • You will then be told this is not a valid MC 10 Reg. Code and be asked if you would like to upgrade.  If you answer yes, you will be brought to the purchase page with the price of $9.98
Hope that helps!

Sorry.  I forgot this one.  I've just invalidated the V10 license and you will see a refund in a day or two.

Jim, I'm not sure what you mean by invalidating the V10 license? I did want to upgrade to version 10 but it should have been at $9.98 and not $24.98.

Jim, I had posted this the other day and I haven't heard anything back. Could you please explain what you meant by invalidating the V10 license. Thank you.

You will need to buy again, but please check that what you're getting (both license and price) are what you want.
