As you found out...you can't have more than 1 instance of v8 running at the same time. I think v9 will behave the same way (I could be wrong).

Unless your just ripping (no encoding), you won't gain anything (unless your machine has 2 or more processors).

Check out EAC for multi rips/encodes.

If you can't download it (may not available for v7), then see if v7 has an external encoder option. Pull LAME 3.92 (the most solid LAME to date) off the web, unzip it to the Plug-ins dir under Media Jukebox, then point MJ to it. I haven't used v7 in a long time so.....good luck!
