iPod - Moving from iTunes to MC
« on: March 24, 2004, 02:39:34 am »

Hi there

I am keen to move across from iTunes to MC but I have run into a bit of a problem.  I have all my lists for my iPod setup in iTunes and can't find a way to export the playlist except in text or XML format.  Both these I don't seem to be able to import into MC.

I have spent quite sometime getting my lists just right so don't want to loose them now but do want to try MC.

Cheers

Dave

Well I have mixed feelings at the very moment regarding MC - iPod integration.

I like the way MC manage mp3 files. It's realy superb, but.

If you wish to manage your iPod Smart Lists which are dynamicaly build upon variuous criteria
stay with iTunes for a time being.

For instance i am missing "Top 25 Most Played" smart list.

MC chaps are aware of problem and I have describe it at:

Searchg for Subject "iPod Smart Lists synchronization ?"

P.S. Send your future questions/remarks regarding iPod support there ;-)

Regards

Well user "sirshambling" wrote:

"But going very well - love the way I can get MC10 to recognise those songs that have been played on the new Ipod so my smartlists that depend on "last played" are accurate. "

This can be used as a sort of WORKAROUND in a way that one can synchronize MC's Smart Lists
and have them on it's iPod.

But bear im mind that those "MC's Smart Lists" became "Plain/Stupid Playlists" on your iPod
It means they loose the ability to update dynamicly based on user defined cryteria.

In other words your "Top Hits" Smart List will be acurate only after synchronization and inacurate till next synchronization ;-)

P.S. Please move discussion to
