Problem with mixed media playlists
« on: March 24, 2004, 12:47:09 pm »

In 10.0.97 I've created a playlist of .avi, .mp3, .wav and .jpg files.  Behaviour is set to Jump on play: Fullscreen (if has display), Double Click: Replace Playing Now (all), Play Button: Play Visible Files (all).

The exact behaviour depends on the exact order of the files, but it seems the system wants to play both audio and video simultaneously.  If I click on an image it will also play the first audio file in the list, unless it finds a video file first, when it just plays that (audio and video). It often doesn't display the image selected, but I haven't worked out the logic.
It's a similar situation with double clicking an audio file, except the correct audio file is always played.
Double clicking a video works ok!!

If there are audio and images together in a playlist, it'll play them together.

A video will temporarily pause the image playback, and it'll resume when the video is done.

Shuffle mode causes a random audio file to start playing when double-clicking the image. (instead of the first audio or video file)

If there are audio and images together in a playlist, it'll play them together.

Is there any way of preventing that? It's not a huge problem since I'm just using the playlist as a holding / sorting area for the assets that will be imported into a video editor, but it would be nice.

I'll assume the answer is no.  I've just discovered playlist groups, which is a better solution for me anyway.
