Handheld device problems in build 101
« on: March 29, 2004, 09:40:18 pm »

Help! I was using the MC 10.0.1 beta to transfer files to my Rio Chiba. I was trying to download a playlist, but the program locked up. When I strarted it again, I checked the files on the Rio, and some of the new ones were there. I decided to delete them all from the Rio and start over again by downloading my playlists again. However, after doing that, I went back to my MC directory, and all of my MP3 files are gone!!

I have since downloaded 10.0.101 and get the same result. What went wrong?

Using a removable drive type handheld(Archos AV380) and setting the root directory to "Music" which is a folder on the root of the device does not work. The files still go right into the actual file system root of the device. Changing the root to "S:\Music\" also doesn't work. Deleting the Handheld plugin and re-installing doesn't help.

This used to work.

JGourd,

Are you synching the files or drag and dropping them? The root directory default will work for synching but not drag and drop. This can be modified, but it seemed that when drag and dropping files, that location of the drop should be respected.

IrishDerby,

I have never seen anything like this. Are the files gone from the PC, from MC, or from the playlists?

I am using the "Send To" context menu to queue them up.

Send-To currently uses the default directory which does not include the modified root path. I will change this and make it availble tomorrow.
