ATI All-In-Wonder Pro
« on: March 31, 2004, 10:31:33 am »

Since MC 10.x my TV card has stopped playing sound.  I can use the ATI supplied TV program and it works fine.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks!

Have you tried to reinstall the Drivers?
Do you have the ATI TV software installed? (sometimes the Audio crossbar is inside the actual TV software)

Look at...

Options/TV Tuner/Advanced then the Audio tab.

Make sure your sound card is selected & the correct input is also selected..

I did that.  I have an Soundblaster Live Audio card and I selected "Line".  I can here it for about 1 sec and then silence.

A shot in the dark here but...

Bring up the SoundBlaster Mixer.  I have found that sometimes it will mute or not mute but will lower the volume of one or more lines when loading the TV.

Don't know what to suggest if it is muting or lowering the volume but at least it might give you a new area to look at.

Also, with the Mixer up make sure all the inputs are showing.  One time I had a weird problem like yours & the mixer was missing 2 or 3 of the inputs that I knew were normally there.

Turned out that the cable running from the sound card to the Platinum front panel was plugged in wrong & there was no TV sound.  As soon as I plugged the cable in correctly all was well again.

Good luck ;D
