VFD support
« on: March 19, 2004, 09:35:08 am »

Anyone know of anything that will display MediaCenter information on the VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) on my HTPC?

I used to use LCDSmartie with Winamp and would really like to have the same with MC.

Cheers....

I'm not sure, but try a search of the Third Party board here.  Extend the date range back about 700 days.

It might not be the simplest solution for just VFD support but you could use www.girder.nl , the DVDSpy plugin for girder and, depending on your vfd, the Girder LCDDriver plugin or the serial or parallel plugins.

I have a non standard VFD (which came from a cash register  ;D), and it works like a charm with all my applications. The only 'feature' I don't have is a spectrum analyzer, which I found gimmicky anyway...

OK, so i now have Girder and DVDSpy - and the list of events it can "learn" include great things like TheaterTek and ShowShifter - but not Media Center :(

Do i need something else?
