With the latest version of the drivers for the All In Wonder Radeon Capture cards, ATI has added the ability to record in MPEG4 format using the hardware encoding on the video card.

Is it possible to access the hardware encoding abilities of the card when doing video capture in MC?  I'd like to use Media Center for my TV capture, but in order to record in high quality MP4 format, I need to be able to use the hardware encoding of the card, so right now, I'm only able to use the ATI program for capturing.

No, MC currently can not use hardware encoding features of a TV device.

gr8bluesgtr the ATI card do not have REAL hardware Encoder it still base on Software Encoding.

ATI uses a combination of both hardware & software.  They first started doing that several years ago for DVD playback.

Other useless information&...

I recall that my old Creative DVD player had a dedicated Creative hardware card for the player; this took up a PCI slot.  ATI came along with a new A-I-W Pro card that let me do away with the dedicated Creative DVD playback card.

Guess what ?  I still have the Creative DVD player in my new computer & it runs better with the ATI card then it did with the Creative dedicated card.
