You have a Catch-22 situation going on for sure.
Digital Playback is distorted/noisy and Analog stops playing (a known bug that occurs on some machines) after track is finished.

Regarding your Digital Playback...have you played with the Output yet (WaveOut - DirectSound)? Are you current on everything (MJ, OS SP's, ASPI, DirectX, soundcard drv's, etc.)? Post your sys info from Help>System Info.

I have to assume you haven't done this yet...

Backup License...Uninstall MJ...Update everything (per my first post)...Reinstall MJ...Restore License

Looks like you've updated ASPI, but for grins & giggles do it again when MJ is not installed.

One last thing...what other rip/encode/burn software do you have on your machine? What's your version of Win Media Player?

Drag,

Go to Help>Backup License then do so to a couple of places (ie safe HD directory AND floppy).

Are you running the latest Creative drivers?

You've got a lot of stuff there that could be causing problems. WMP7 and ECDC are fine, not familiar with the others.

How bad do you want MJ to run well? Why you ask? If the above still doesn't work then I suggest you uninstall MJ and everything else (from the ones you listed except WMP & ECDC) that has any kind of MJ functionality. Reinstall MJ as outlined in previous post and see how it does. If good then you can start adding the others back to your system (keep tabs on MJ to keep original problem from reocurring).

Best solution...get W2k. Your machine is burly enough.
