Video Skipping & Audio Levels
« on: May 08, 2004, 01:31:24 am »

I've been using Mc to play my collection of music videos (mpg) along with my (mp3) audio files.  This has been work great until I just recently came across a problem or possibly a bug within Mc.

Until just recently I've been playing approximately 5 minutes in length videos all recorded as MPEG-1.  I've decided to start recording music mixed videos (about 3 songs in length) averaging anywhere between 12 to 15 minutes in length.  When playing these video mixes, I became aware that Mc would start skipping about 2 or 3 times throughout the mix.  Not good.......  :-[

I tried playing these mixes using other media players and had no problems. I thought, maybe Mc just need more ram then these other players.

At the time I first discovered this problem my system was a Pentium 4 1606 Mhz with 256 of ram.   I just recently upgrade my ram and now have 785 (that number puzzles me) thinking this would solve my problem. It didn't    So..................

I decided to try using the new feature within Mc (options/Playback/Video) and used Window Media Player engine to play my videos.  This worked great.  No more skipping..... Hurray!!!!!!! ;D

Now the problem.  The audio level is 1/3 of the audio level it was when playing using Mc's engine.

When I  play the video using Windows Media Player (ver 9)  the audio level is fine.

This is a problem because within Mc, if I mix videos and audios using this feature I will have to manually adjust the audio level down for every mp3 files.

Please.... someone help!

Hi Cindy...

I just ran a test using the WMP engine, and your correct, the audio level is much lower.  I can see how this could be a problem.  My videos are short so
I've had no need for this feature.   It must be a bug.

Hey Cindy.....   I think I like this feature for playing videos if it wasn't for the audio problem.

I added it to the current thread for bugs.  I would like to see this fixed.

I also play a lot of videos.
