Am I missing something in "my" MC 10 ?
« on: April 09, 2004, 08:10:28 am »

(I thought it was better to start a new thread on this.)
In another thread I asked about making a snapshot of a dvd image. Pipsqueak and IanG told me that at least with mpeg files it was possible to pause the playback, and that when I rightclick then I would have the options "screen grab file" and  "use screen grab for thumbnail". Pipsqueak sent me a screenprint and I saw these options indeed.
However when I play a mpeg file, pause it and rightclick, I don't have these options. All the others are there ( The view options, asp. ratio, config. video playback etc) but only the mentioned two are missing.
What could be wrong ? For what it is worth: I am on WinXP.

I remember a post about this earlier.... I wanted to take a still from a MOV file and use it as a thumbnail... I read the post, but could not duplicate it either...  There were no right click options???

Don't know much about video... but why don't you simply hit the 'print Screen' key (that copies the current screen into the clipboard), and paste it wherever you want it (e.g., a photo editing program)?

Are you pausing the video before you right-click? It's only there when it's paused...

Are you right clicking the video screen itself or the empty bit at the side in Playing Now?

Yes, I rightclick the videoscreen itself (on the picture) and I do it while paused.

Try rightclicking outside the screen, on the blank bit.

Doesn't make any difference.
Think I am gonna give up.
Or should I try to do a new, fresh, install of MC ? (Although that will cost me a restore, because I upgraded more than 2 weeks ago).
Of course it is not THAT important-when I want what I need, i can use powerdvd-but I can't stand it that it doesn't work  >:(

I've never done a restore. Is there a cost? Are we only allowed so many? I tend to reformat fairly often and now I'm worried.
