Some professional audio apps are already tagging the WAVs, for example SoundForge (and by extension now expired Siren Jukebox).

I have recently come across this post in British AV forum that mentions a command line utility called ATWavTag that can read and insert tags into WAV files.

The tags that can be added are: track number (non-standard), title of the song, album name, artist, and genre.

Now would it be very nice if MC10 would support the WAV tags?

There is no real standard WAV tagging method, so it's a little messy.

Are you happy with an MC-only solution, like adding a data block with an APEv2 tag in it?

Having no preagreed standard presents a dilema. When I ripped CDs into WAVs using Sonic Foundry's apps, the ATWavTag utility did recognised the tags.

I think adding WAV tags in the manner that allows for maxium interoperabiliy would be ideal.

However, having any WAV tags is still better than having none.
