Making MC play nice with Hauppauge
« on: April 21, 2004, 07:18:53 am »

Hi.  I'm trying to use my HTPC for music and video recording duties.  I know that PVR support is still very preliminary with MC so I'm trying to use Hauppauge's WinTV2000 software for recording.  The problem is that if MC is open when a scheduled recording begins, it will fail within the first minute.  I assume some resource (the TV tuner or the sound card) is being accessed by MC and therefore causing WinTV to fail.  Can I manually turn off the TV tuner support in MC to avoid a conflict.  I would like to be able to leave MC open as a front-end to my HTPC while having WinTV2000 do background recordings from the TV tuner.  Thanks.   -Tom

MC does not load TV resource unless you run TV in MC.
