Hello here,
Am seeking a solution to rename files without changing ID3-Tag Info.
Whilst posting some users have problems with the long filenames.
Below an example of tag-info of 1 CD:
Composer: Mussorgsky, Modest
Album : Pictures At An Exhibition/Sleeping Beauty
Artist: Pletnev, Mikhail
Track#: [1]
Name : Mussorgsky - Pictures From An Exhibition - Promenade
B-rate: 320kbps
Current POSTING filename:
Mussorgsky - Mikhael Pletnev - Pictures at an Exhibition-Sleeping Beauty - 01 -
Mussorgsky - Pictures from an Exhibition - Promenade.mp3
Same CD:
Composer: Tchaikovsky, Pyotr Il'yich
Album : Pictures At An Exhibition/Sleeping Beauty
Artist: Pletnev, Mikhail
Track#: [16]
Name : Tchaikovsky - Sleeping Beauty - Introduction
B-rate: 320kbps
current POSTING filename:
Mussorgsky - Mikhael Pletnev - Pictures at an Exhibition-Sleeping Beauty - 16 -
Tchaikovsky - Sleeping Beauty - Introduction.mp3
Obviously the current filenames are too long.
I might rename the file to:
Mussorgsky - Pletnev - Mussorgsky - Pictures At An Exhibition_Sleeping Beauty -
01 - Pictures From An Exhibition - Promenade - (320kbps).mp3
or:
Tchaikovsky - Pletnev - Pictures At An Exhibition_Sleeping Beauty - 16 -
Sleeping Beauty - Introduction - (320kbps).mp3
I am afraid it can't be shortened anymore.
Don't see a way to shorten it further without leaving away essential info. Mind, there may be 2 different composers on 1 CD, 2 different works...
I have moved some files to a temp-dir. The only way *I* know to change the filenames is to change the tag-info and copy that to the
filenames.
On the other hand, I donot want to have _both_
Mikhael Pletnev
and
Pletnev in the MC-database.
Checked out some renaming-utilities, but am afraid none of them work
that efficiently as MC (v10)
Any recommendations?
(Batch-renaming without changing tag-info)
