file atributes
« on: April 26, 2004, 07:38:12 pm »

I have just ripped about 150 CDs and changed to MC 10.0. All the file info was lost  I would like to restore the info so as to be able to sort by artist, Album, and name. The filed are stored under c:\Documents and Settings\jim\desktop\music\"Artist"\"Album"\"Name"

How can I restore so the files will show up under the Artist/Album corectly?

Select the files > Tools > Library Tools > Fill Properties From Filename...

The help file has pretty good examples if you need them.

Also, the files may have tags so that you can do:

Select the files > Tools > Library Tools > Update Library (from tags)

Try things on small batches of files first to make sure you're getting what you want.
