Since MC 10 is out and seems to be 100 % stable for multi-zone use I have created the full guide to setup of zones and full automation to the degree that you'll think you've got a million dollar system!   Have a look at my homepage, under "How to add and configure zones in Media Center 9-10, and how to create playlists for opening in MC10 via Girder" and "How to add control for the zones in Girder". I have also put up for download my GML that controls four zones with fully selectable playlists. I would think that I have covered all bases this time, but if you disagree, please tell me! Actually it would be nice if you told me that I have done a good job if I have, always nice to hear...
