Cannot restore license

About a year ago I had to restore my system. Although I think it's a bad system, the registration restore disk worked just as it was suppose to. Not this time. MJ can't even find the file because it has no extension. I tried adding the extension but of course that didn't work. (Well, stranger things have happened.) I can't register over the internet because the web site can't verify my email address. Is there anyone at MJ I can mail the registration file to prove ownership and help resolve this problem or are they going to stick me for $25?

The name of the file is "MediaJukeboxRegistrationFile". Is there hope?

yes there is hope

thats not the proper name.

you must have renamed it.

if you bought MJ a year ago then the registration should have been named somthing like.

MediaJukebox7.RRG

or maybe

MediaJukebox8.RRG

the file name must be the orginal name.

Please refrain from comments like this

J river does support it's users, but for users who bought before version 8 J river can not re-issue License files.

for you it may be best to upgrade now because the price of MJ9 will be going up to something higher than $24.98 (i think $34.98 or somthing like that)

I didn't mean to offend anyone but every other company I do business with has records and can identify me as a customer.
After your post, I changed the name of the file to MediaJukebox7.RRG. (It was originally a version 7 registration.) Sure enough, it worked. If that's not the default name, I guess I named it something that would make sense to me. It don't remember what it was named when it worked the last time.
Is this registration going to continue to work or will it expire when the price goes up? Should I get a new license now? I intend to continue to use the product indefinately. As much as I don't like the registration file and my dependence on it, MJ is a GREAT product. In the last six months or so I must be responsible for a dozen copies being sold. I should become a dealer! :-)

Oh, in case I have a problem again, can I change the email and password on file with J Rivers? Can I send in the file to prove ownership and then be entered in the computer with a current email address and password?

One more thing... Thanks very much for your help.

that program will continue to work, that has nothing to do with future versions.

thats up to you, but like i said the price of MJ9 will go up soon and there have been many improvements since version 7.

If you install MJ9 then Buy that license is also good for MJ8 incase you did not want to play with the MJ9 beta.

If something happens to your RRG file J river will not replace it (they can't).

if you upgrade this has all been change where you can restore from the restore page.

Are you saying that my version 7 license won't work with version 9 and therefore if I am going to want to use version 9 I should buy a license now? If sooner or later I'm going to have to buy a new license for version 9, I'd rather pay less now than more later.

As Stated in the License Html a MJ7 license will work for MJ7, When MJ8 was released The CEO allowed it to work with MJ8. this is normal for Media Jukebox that your license will work for the next version also (it may not always be so).

No your MJ rrg file will not work with Version 9

OK, you sold me. I bought a new license. It may be worth the price to be rid of the registration file.  :)
