Crashes, slow. (9 was better :( )
« on: May 15, 2004, 04:25:39 am »

I have 10.0.127 and I'm very diappointed. It works a lot slower than 9th did. It crashes if you change something in options and click OK. Actually it does not crash but starts lagging. It's like you point on "minimize" or "close" button and they start flashing in 3-4 seconds, when it's supposed to be instantaniously. :( If click play I might have to wait for 1-2 minutes to hear anything. All that happens when other programs work fine. The only cure is to close through rigth clicking on an icon in SysTray and choosing "Exit".

What are you playing?  Where is it stored?

What other software is running?  Try simplifying to see if you can find what may be causing it.

Any third party plugins installed?  Uninstall them.

The program itself should be significantly faster and more stable than V9.

Please copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

Here is SysInfo:

I'm also running eDonkey, FlashGet, Dr. Web, MouseWare amd Outpost.

Most of the codecs are from kLite MediaPack. I cannot believe it's supposed to work faster than 9th version. It's just so unreal from what I've seen. :(

Try uninstalling /reinstalling.

When did you last use 9?  Could it be down to a fresher install of Windows at that time?

At the very worst you won't notice a difference in speed/stability in v10.  It certainly shouldn't be worse than 9

I used 9 about a month ago. Than I reinstalled the whole system. Installed Service Pack 2 RC1. And I got MC 10.0.127 about a week ago. Everything works well just as it did before "format c:" :) Well, except for some keygens, cracks and apparently MC.  :'(
I'm downloading 10.0.137 right now. Hope it's better.

I certainly did see an improvement in speed between MC 9.1 and 10.0 which was one of the main reason why I paid for the upgrade. The speed was increase was very significant in my case.

And I also haven't encountered a single crash yet.

Using MC with a crack will cause "problems".
