Can smarlists use drive location or paths?
« on: June 07, 2004, 05:36:52 am »

Is it possible for smartlists to create rules based on drive location or paths?  Wildcards might make this possible, but it doesn't look like smartlists support wildcards.  Is there a way, for example, to create a smartlist that only plays tracks from a certain parent directory on a certain drive?

Thanks,

Larry

Yes.  I have every "Now That's What I Call Music" album stored in a single sub directory.  I have a views scheme that shows all of these albums based on file path.  I don't have access to MC just now but it's something like e.g.:

[Filename]="D:\my music\now albums"  or it could be
[Filename]=D:\my music\now albums   or even
[Filename(path)]="D:\my music\now albums"  or maybe
[Filepath]="D:\my music\now albums"

Get the idea?

Use Add> Keyword when creating the rule to find the correct keyword.

Thanks -- that did the trick (using [Filename(path)] and no quotes.)
