Media Server won't start
« on: July 09, 2004, 12:26:57 pm »

I'm not sure what's going on.  Last night I brought up the server for the first time.  I tried connecting the client through my network and failed.  I figured it was my firewall, but ran out of time to play with it.  Today when I try to bring up Media Server - nothing happens.  It doesn't appear that any process has been started.  Is there anyway to see why it fails to launch?  Why would it be different today?

I'm running MC 10.0.146 and XP.

Thanks, Chris

It may be running.  Check the icons in the lower right corner of the screen.

That's it.  It showed up hidden which is why I didn't notice it.  It is running.

Thanks, Chris

As I suspected, I needed to enable port 80 on my firewall/router to get it to work.  The server/client stuff seems to work great!
