eblitz shuttle support
« on: July 09, 2004, 05:40:14 pm »

I have had trouble getting my eblitz shuttle to work. I found a review on epinions in which a fellow consumer/ reviewer said that he had had the same problem and found that media jukebox offered support for it; once he got support from them, everything worked! That's what I want, too! But I can't find anything on here about eblitz shuttle, nor can I seem to find a way to contact the support people directly...  The only thing I can find is this post/ forum. Any ideas from anyone out there? Please... THANKS!

Hi Rob,
Was it Media Jukebox or JRiver Media Center?

Try a search here for eblitz.

Those are both our products (JRiver is the company name).

Try a search.

Rob,

There has been little interest expressed in eBlitz support so it has not been included since Media Jukebox version 8. Try connecting the eBlitz with WMDM support enabled in MC version 10 (under Tools->Options->Devices 'Enable WMDM support') and see if MC recognizes the eBlitz. If it does, you are all set. If it does not please let me know and I will see what we can do.

Thanks,

Steve

Windows Media Device Manager

It's an option for the handheld inside MC.

WMDM is a protocol for dealing with devices.  Media Center uses it.  Try a search at google to learn more.

Otheriwse, how do i utilize this wmdm thing that you're talking about?

robbio,

Media Center 10 is the product of ours that you should use if you want to test connecting to your eBlitz with WMDM. It is available here......

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=22442

WMDM support is built into MC 10. You enable it by going to Tools->Options->Devices and clicking the checkbox to 'Enable WMDM support'.

Well, I downloaded it and tried what you said but it didn't recognize the player. Then I went into help and followed the instructions on how to download device plug-ins; it linked me to a web page where i could search for my player, but my device was not listed on your site, either. i know that you have what i need because i read that guy's post that said his player worked great now, ever since he downloaded your system... But I can't figure out how to get that for myself. Can you help?

robbio,

If eBlitz does not work with WMDM enabled, we will have to update our plugin to be compatible with MC 10. This can be done, but not immediately. Which post are you referring to in regards to the guy with the eBlitz which is working great?

The post to which I'm referring is the one that led me to your website. It was on epinions.com.

How long do you think it will be before the plug-in update take?

Well, couldn't I just download the older version that supports my player with the older plugin?

How will I know whne the upgrade was finished? I hope it isn't too long. I am just out of money and have waited a verry long time to get this working... I'd hate to not know when it's ready...

Media Jukebox 8 (the last version to support eBlitz)  is still available, but I do not think the plugins are. If you download MJ 8 and want the plugin I can send you something that might work if you email me at steve @ jriver.com

The link to MJ 8 is...

http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/download.html

I would uninstall MC 10 before getting 8. Yes you can get a free trialware as far as I know.
