Windows 98 closes down program
« on: November 09, 2002, 05:52:01 am »

I am running your software on Windows 98.I have changed the settings for the CD burner as requested in your instructions. The problem I'm having is when I go to burn a CD I get a message that the program has performed an illegal function and will be closed. I was able to burn 3 CD's succesfully before this showed up.The burner works fine outside your program. Any ideas? I would hate to have to give up on your wonderful program!

Post your sys info first (Help>Systen Info)

Are you current on everything (OS service packs, ASPI, MJ, etc.)?

I've heard that W98 user's have had some luck by using the external ASPI option (implied when the Use Internal ASPI is unchecked in Settings>Options>CD Writer Settings). Make sure you have Adaptec ASPI v4.72 installed.

I tried checking the ASPI, I downloaded the adaptec checker and it indeed was bad, I downloaded the version 4.72 and then I followed the dos commands instructions provided by your help document  and these are my current sys infos.
The bad news is the problem is still there ( I rebooted, of course).
I find it rather remarkable that MJ worked flawlessly for about a week and now as soon as I start a burn process I get the illegal operation routine from Windows. I tried downloadin MJ again to no avail.
