Multiple computers question
« on: August 08, 2004, 12:43:00 pm »

Did a serch and came up empty on this...with my current license, can I put MC on my other computers at home or do I need a separate license for each one?  Am seriously thinking of getting HTPC set up and not necessarily networking ( that might come later, as it involves extra wiring). this would be a stand alone system for the time being.   Thanks  Bet

From the purchase and licensing FAQ:

"Q: Can I install on more than one PC?
A: During the two-week period after you have purchased or restored, you can use the Install Key you received to activate the program on your other PC’s. You may use the program on your work PC and on your home PC's with a single license."

FYI - You can network your HTPC using wi-fi that would eliminate the need for extra wiring...  That's what I'm planning on doing.

Thanks Paulr, missed that in the faq's...thought of wi-fi, but my main computer has highly sensitive stuff(re: our practice) on it - and can't take any chances with it (wi-fi just isn't as secure yet), so if go network, have to hard wire it in.   :(

so, I guess I have to get another license since it's been quite some time since I signed up.   sigh...oh well, it's worth it.  ;D

Sure thing.  You don't need to buy another license.  Just use a restore:  "During the two-week period after you have purchased or restored."

They are just saying here that a license key is only good for two weeks.
