Download Problems-diagnostic experts to the rescue
« on: November 08, 2002, 07:21:39 am »

Hello,

I've tried to download MJ8 and keep recieving the warning that Norton Antivirus has detected a virus named W32.Opaserv.Worm in the following files: scrsvr.exe;Alevir.exe;Marco!.scr; and Brazil.pif.

I sent the infected file into Norton and they confirmed the existence of the virus. What I don't understand is if the problem is on my end, why does the infected file continue to show up on my system upon downloading when the file has either been deleted from my system or quaranteened ?

My assumption is that the failure of the program to download is due to the interruption by Norton during the download process. I'm not sure if that assumption is correct ?

Any thoughts? Much appreciated:)

I think that's a Norton problem.  Those aren't our files.
