Can MJ connect to "last" music server on startup?
« on: November 06, 2002, 03:17:19 pm »

Subject says it all. I love Webremote to run music off the HTPC but the music is stored on another computer. I'd love for either webremote to be able to allow me to connect to server or just have MJ connect at startup. Is this possible? Thanks...

You can add a "connect to last" icon to your toolbar by right clicking on it and choosing customize.  That's as close as you can get, I think.

Thanks Jim! Question though, and pardon if this is standard windows stuff but I don't know how to do this. Right click on MJ's icon and choose customize? (didn't see that option). Can you elaborate?

Creating an icon to connect to last will work great since I can use my Pronto remote with Girder to execute it. (still don't need to turn the projector on. Then use Webremote. Life is good....)

Start MJ and right click on the toolbar (where the buttons are).

Or, alternatively, change whatever links you use to start MJ to point to

C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\mjextman.exe /Connect m01p://[ip address or host name]

*assuming that's the folder you have MJ installed to.

Thanks Adam! That's exactly what I was looking for!!

(now I just need to figure out how to add CL arguments to a desktop shortcut...)

Ahh, I figured it out and it works. I just made a batch file and saved it to the desktop. Since it's a DOS batch file, I get more options in the properties to select working folder, etc. The batch file just says "mjmextman /connect ....".

Thanks again.
