Search Broken?
« on: September 05, 2004, 05:21:16 pm »

I don't see a general place to post this question -

I must need a little education on this site...

I have some posts that I want to refer back to. When I search based on user, and look for my user name (ewingr), it finds nothing. (I know I have done this in the past here successfully).

I feel I must be overlooking it, but I see no way to find my posts with a link like "View your posts" either.

But if I search on my first name which is always in my signature, I find some of them (maybe all if I look a little further).

Is the search broken? Or, can someone give me a pointer for this site?

If you click on your user name, it will give you the chance to read old posts.

The search is not broken, but it does have one annoying quirk:  you can't search on just your user name.  You'll need to put in the user name and also choose some very likely search string (I'd suggest "e").

Crazy, but it works...  a search on ewingr and "e" returns all ten of your posts.

Of course, JimH gave a much easier way of finding just your posts.

The search function isn't great on this forum.  Might be easier to do a google search of the forum site ?
