iPod and 11.0.86 Problems
« on: September 21, 2004, 04:26:11 pm »

Hello all,

I just Restored my iPod and now MC 11.0.86 won't recognize it. When I right-click it in the tree, it shows the folders on the iPod (Calendars, Contacts, iPod Control, etc.). There is no option to initialize. I thought maybe WMDM was on, but I can't find where it's turned on or off.

Help!  :)

Thanks,

crow

Mine has sync'd fine but the playlists on the ipod are all prefixed with ROOT\xxxx
eg ROOT\AudioBooks

Everything else appears to be working fine in regards to my ipod.

crow,

After you restore your iPod you must disonnect and reconnect iPod so that the iPod firmware has a chance to create its default folders. Most importantly, check if your iPod has a folder called 'iPod_Control' on it.

If this is not your problem, get tonight's MC 11 build and try again ( I made modifications which will affect this) . If you are still stuck, let me know what OS you have and what iPod.

Jimbo,

Please get tonight's build and this should be fixed.

Steve,

Thanks, as always, for your help.

When I get home tonight (I'm at work), I'll Restore again and give that a try.

However, last night when I was trying this and had the problem, the iPod_Control folder was visible within MC, and I'm 99% sure that I didn't disconnect and reconnect. Don't know if that offers any new info to you, but I thought I'd toss it up on the board.

I'll go home tonight, d/l the new build, and try again, then report in.

Thanks,
