Woah, Alex, I'm away for a week and you've made all this! That's awesome! I'd like to thank you for this awesome plugin.

FYI - FoxyTunes to add remote support:

My email to Alex of FoxyTunes:
I would love to control J River Media Center remotely via FoxyTunes.  I would love to use my laptop via wireless to control J River MC 10 / 11 running on my HTPC.  The only way to do this now is using tools such as Netremoter or Girder (or remote desktop) - very cumbersome.

Many thanks for considering this.

His reply:
Hi,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

Something very similar is already on my todo list.

So, stay tuned :)

Cheers,
Alex

How great is that!  Many thanks Alex.

Alex is da man, man! :p

Alex, would you be able to make FoxyTunes select from Playing now rather than selecting a file from _somewhere_ on the harddrive when using "Play File"? Or maybe even browsing the library like when using minime.

I really do love the foxytunes integrated MC/Firefox extension. Is anybody else having the same problem as me? When I go to close my firefox browser, media center launches. Fix for this?

Yeah...I'm seeing something like this too...although...I'm not sure that it's launching when I close firefox.... or some other time....

The reason I'm not sure is that MC launches, but firefox keeps the focus.

I'll have to investigate more.

I should note, this isn't happening every time for me... just on occasion.

I'm planning to add playlist integration in a future version.

What happens is that you were using MC with FoxyTunes and then MC was closed or hidden. Now MC is running in the background and if Firefox exits you have no way to reach it.
In this situation, FoxyTunes will pop the MC window up before exiting.

but if you close firefox, (and then it launches mc), the next time you launch firefox and then click anywhere on the foxytunes bar,  firefox freezes for ages, and MC is brought up again, thereby making foxytunes unusable  until you close both MC and firefox and then restart them again.

anybody seeing this?

slight digression...

one week using firefox and it is cool. tabbed browsing is convenient and extensions are useful (weather one and of course foxy tunes), but the bookmarks suck.

The bookmarks extensions dont synch with the favourites folder properly (actually it deleted my favorites folder! and then filled it again, but missing over half of the favorites)

Also, using the bookmarks menu is a pain. I like the favourites bar that you can toggle in IE.

end of digression.

Do you mean the Toolbar or the Explorer Bar from IE?   Both are available in FireFox --  Firefox's "Bookmark  Toolbar Folder" under bookmarks is the same as IE's Link Bar.  Firefox's Sidebar under View-Sidebar  puts the Favorites down the left side.  Is that what you wanted?

Park,
Thumb rule is that with firefox you'll most likely be able to change the thing(s) you don't like somehow (with extension or customization.)

My favorite 'extension' is this:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/adblock

TimB,
I couldn't agree any more.

Thanks for the tip, this is a great add-in for Mozilla!  I did have to download version 1.0 to get it working with MC 11 and Firefox 1.0.  Here is the link http://www.iosart.com/foxytunes/firefox/index.html

So far, it works great with version 11.0.129.

THe use of the word Henhouse is a expression.

Henhouse, is a house for female chickens. Foxes eat chickens. So Firefox on Lisa's system didn't play well with other programs.

Firefox is a very good program, Like all programs it is not for everybody. Maxthon has the advantage of useing IE. THere are still webpages that cannot use FF.
You might want to look into IE7... That smokes maxthon.

Do you like IE7 more than Maxthon?
I haven't test IE7 because my Windows XP is not a legal copy and I can't install it in my system... (Windows XP it's the only ilegal software I have)
