This has two reasons:
1. I have a tendency to listen to very long songs on my work computer, funeral doom (for those who doesn't know it a typical funeral doom song will be around 20 minutes long) for instance, and then I've got to either remember where I left off or listen to the song all over again.
2. But more important: The carputer/MediaSUV! Now there is something in MC that makes it stop playing around 20 % of the times when hibernating and then resuming again. I believe Dragyn has had the same problem with his carputer. MC locks up at "buffering". This makes it impossible to use because of the WAF (wife acceptance factor), that demands 100 % reliability. My only workaround for this is to use a full stop and then play from the beginning in Girder events for before hibernating and after resuming. Which is why it would be wonderful just to send the computer into hibernation and then have a special play command that in reality stops the playback and then resumes it from where it left off. This will make it a lot more like a regular car CD changer in use, which is something that I'm gunning for. Of course that's a CD changer with more than 2500 CD's in it, so regular may not be the correct word here...
Can I hold my breath, guys? Does it help if I say "pretty please with sugar on it"?
