How to add external program to "send to" menu?
« on: January 05, 2004, 10:06:04 pm »

How do you add an external program to the "send to" menu? The program name and path seem pretty obvious, but what are the options in the parameter field? The default is "[FILENAME]" but this seems to open a separate instance of the external program for each filename. What are the possible parameters here?

anybody? I just need some info about how MC works. What are the possible values for the parameter field when you add an external program to the "send to" menu?

There was once a thread on sending files to Explorer for printing....  but I can't find it.  Sorry.

Winamp 5, for playback with visuals. Right now, using send-to opens multiple instances of Winamp.

A related question...

I was trying to select a "playlist" of images and send it to the Shutterfly uploader, it works fine with a single image, but not multiples. Anyone have any idea what might need to be set, if anything? It would be great to somewhat directly integrate MC with outside photo services...

I remember talking about this long ago... see http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=11039;start=msg69731#msg69731.

I use Shutterfly exclusively now...  I had to buy $100 of photos to get a good deal.  It would be great if there was an easy way to upload.  For now, I've been just copying my photos to a new foloder and then using the Shutterfly software.

Anything from the developers? What are the possible entries in the parameter field?

Default is currently [FILENAME], [PLAYLIST] doesn't seem to do anything (opened a single instance of Winamp, with a playlist full of identical entries called "[PLAYLIST]").

*bump*

Anything from the developers on this? Not a feature request, just trying to find out how an existing feature works.

Any answers? I need to know what are the possible values for the parameter field when sending to an external program from the "Send To" menu. Not a feature request, not a bug report, just a question about the program that I can't answer by looking at the help file.

I'll give this another bump.  I have exactly the same question -- what parameters are available to send?

Is [FILENAME] the only option?

I'm trying to write a batch file to use, and I'd like to pass a couple of parameters.  I would like to send a second parameter like [Filename (name)] but this doesn't seem to work.

Thanks
