music skipping when hard drive accessed
« on: October 29, 2004, 08:16:36 pm »

when using mc my music skips when only when my main hard drive is being accessed. When the cpu is at full load its fine, when other drives are being accessed its fine, but for some reason, it has all sorts of artifacts when my main scsi drive is accessed. Any ideas as to why?

taking too long to access?

did you defrag it?

you might also want to run disk dr or scan disk on it

just in case you may have bad sectors and they can cause a delay in the read attempts.

have an extra SCSI controler?

it may be going bad

it seems to work fine in anything else... copying fast and everything to my other drives. Defragging doesn't seem to help, but how would i know if any of the others, especially the failing hardware where what was wrong?
