MP3 to WAV (again!)
« on: October 29, 2002, 04:08:58 am »

:(  Still trying to burn MP3 files to CD, but of the 50 or so files in the folder MJ will only recognize 10 of them.
If all the files are the same format, MP3, why are some files more equal than others?
TIA

If you posted previously, could you please do a search and find it?  Then add this to the end.

More details and the version of MJ you use would help.

Does it recognize only the same 10 every time? Try to determine if it's the quantity of files or if it is particular files. Your trying to burn a MP3 data CD, right? (versus a audio CD)

If it recognizes the same files each and every time and not the others....then there is probably a tagging problem with those "left out" files (doesn't make sense though if they are already in the MJ database).

As Jim mentioned, MJ info would help.

I am using MJ8.  I want to burn MP3 files to a CD in an uncompressed format.  MJ sees only ten files in a folder containing approximately 50 files, and the converter sees only six of the ten.  Another application sees all the residing files, but I didn't acquire MJ in order to turn to another application.  Devoted, eh?

We need the full version.  You can copy your system info from Help in MJ and paste it here.

If the version isn't current, please update.

388 is the latest build.  It's on the downloads page.  Please update.

[thanks for the correction, Michel]

Do you see now why it was important?
You had a VERY old version.

Does it work correctly now?

....and the previous version was only downloaded three weeks previously!!
However, still no change in presentation.  It puzzles me why MJ doesn't reproduce the folder/file display as it really is on the HD.  Looks like I may have to resort to ECD Creator!

Disregard all after 'Good Morning' !!
I cleared everything out and re-imported all the desired tracks.  The subsequent 'burn' was successful.
Thanks for your efforts.

Paul.
