i wonder if it is because j river yesterday turned off removed media server from the new product (media center 11) and replaced it with another.

if so this may be the reason

Doubtful.  I don't think there's any relationship between MJ's Media Server and MC's.

Any more information?

Well I'm looking for a product that I can stream locally to my other computers or on a LAN. So if this doesn't work out of the box (so to speak) then I can BUY someone elses product very easily.
Help file doesn't tell you how to resolves issues.

both computers must be running the same version

there was a help file once, i guess if your not willing to provide information you can't get any help.
