« on: December 02, 2004, 05:10:35 pm »

Hi all!
I just purchaced a brand new Compaq.
I then tried playing DVDs through Media Center and there is no picture, only sound. If anyone can help me thanks. :D It plays fine in PowerDVD 6.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling PowerDVD. This is just third party advice, but from my own experience and the experience of a few others I know, PowerDVD seems to be kind of finiky about programs that arent officially listed by CyberLink trying to use their controls. I know a few people, myself included, that have had problems with certain portions of the controls either not working or just not recognizing the software.

If possible, you may want to try installing the latest WinDVD codecs. I've never known anyone to have any problems with them, once again, myself included.
