Phantom Files ...
« on: December 22, 2004, 09:04:44 am »

Hi there

Been happily using MC10.0.155 for a while now - and I love everything about it ...

However, I have come across a recent glitch where when I import a batch of new material into the library, it keeps coming across five 'phantom' files which it tries to put in the database.  MC knows that these are not there - because it immediately marks all five of them with that blank file icon with the red cross against it (next to the Name field).  Every time I try to delete them, I chose the last option 'Remove from MC and permanently delete from disk', which it seems happy to do .... but then the same five files reappear when I next try an import from that location.  I have looked in Windows Explorer for these files, but can't find them there either, or in any of the subdirectories ......

Any ideas how I might sort this problem ?   Thanks for any help you might have .....

You may have a playlist that references these files.  Maybe import in small batches to narrow it down.

Spot on.  It was coming through an imported playlist - all sorted now.

Thanks for your help !
