Renaming "FileName" Path

The other day i was playing with filename field and if you send changes to the file name containing chrs like, ", \ , /, ? etc.... MC will refuse to rename the filename.

Sure i put some code in to check for the 12 or so bad chrs but MC should do this when the filename has been changed.
