I have noticed that after the last recent forum S/W overhaul/update, when quoting replies, the embedded quotes (if any) are now being stripped out.  More often than not, this makes the quote either meaningless or, at the very least, confusing and out of context.

I've been around here a while, and I don't recall endless quoting being a problem on this board.  Yes, I admit, on some forums with less mature or experienced forum users, it can be annoying to see pages and pages of quotes within quotes, but again, I've never seen that on this forum.

So was this intentional, or was this just an oversight?

Don't know, but each version of the forum software we've used has had something odd like that.  The previous version didn't always handle quotes right either.

Best might be to edit the quoted material for clarity.  Less text is always better.
