I add quite a few custom fields and want to have them save to file properties so that I can view them in explorer by right cliccking the file and view properties.  I check the option to save to file when possible.

In  the options where I create the new custom field, there is a geneal area where I assign the name.  Under that is an option for where to save it in the file properties (I assume). 

I know it is sort of driven by file type and what the field is, but what selection stands the best chance of saving to the file properties where I could view it in explorer if I need to?  What file types can't have file properties affected (if any) i.e. *.asf or *.exe, or *.jpg, or *.xls?   What ever guidence you have based on experience or links to resources (beyond help in MC) would be appreciated.
