Media Center 11 - fullscreen mode skinning?
« on: January 15, 2005, 07:30:58 am »

Hi,

Is it at all possible to change the appearance of the fullscreen mode (the control bars basically) to make it a bit more aesthetically pleasing? It's the only aspect of MC that continues to bug me!

I really notice it when playing back DVDs, where the lack of immediately visible controls / unintuitive sliders makes navigating a DVD more difficult than it perhaps needs to be. Having a single  taskbar with a full set of controls would be a great improvement I reckon - especially if the design could continue the theme used in the main interface.

I guess that's where Media Center falls down - it's an absolutely fantastic system for experienced users, but newbies and the generally not-so-computer-illiterate tend to suffer a bit.

Just a thought.

Agreed!  I've raised this issue before and was told "not at this time."  Too bad, because it really limits the use of MC as a 10-foot interface.

I find I have to go to Theater View to get the control buttons instead of using the on-screen icons.
