Glass Engine-style navigation
« on: January 23, 2005, 01:08:06 pm »

The Glass Engine http://www.philipglass.com/glassengine/launch.htm is an extremely interesting way of navigating music. Music is classified according to several dimensions (velocity, year, album title, atmpsphere, intensity, ...), you navigate in one dimension and all other dimensions get updated accordingly. Such a way of navigating music would be a great addition for Media Center.

Warning: the Glass Engine is written in Java, and its online applet works only using Internet Explorer as a browser.

So it shows the relationship of a specific title to everything else in different categories.  To me JRiver should use this in the pane view where a specifc pane is highlited and the rest are updated regardelss of whether they are to the right or left.
