Adjusting BPM
« on: January 25, 2005, 01:23:26 pm »

I use the BPM metric to beat match and produce mixes and have, by and large, very good numbers stored in my tags.

However, I've found that in almost all cases, BPMs reported at over 145 need to be halved to be accurate.  I can identify the tracks easily and select them - just don't see how to divide by 2 in batch.

Any help on how to do this in MC (or outside MC) would be appreciated.

I actually worked out a solution, so I figured I'd post it here in case anyone else can use the same methodolgy.

1.  I used the "free" version of MP3/Tag Studio to export filename and BPM to a .csv file for the files I want to change.

2.  Next, I imported the file into excel, made my adjustments formulaically and then exported the revised data to a another .cvs file.

3.  Then used the Studio program to re-import the revised data into tags.

Worked great!
