Newbie to MC
« on: February 09, 2005, 10:22:50 am »

Glad to be here,

Couple of questions.

If I'm using APE to rip CD's which setting...fast, normal...ect will give me the best sound quality?

If I rip a CD and I want the image file to stay with each track what settings do I enable.  I find this a little confusing.  My aim is to import all my ripped CD's into Meedio.  Meedio uses a folder.jpg with it's default imoorter.  I plan to use the MC importer plug-in.

The quality is the same for any setting. The only difference is the amount of compression of the file
and how long it takes to compress.

Is there a difference in the amount of file space each setting takes up?

Yep, there's a difference in compression. I don't know how much though, give it a try. Since the quality is the same, you can convert between the different levels and see how much space is used and how long it takes without reducing the quality of the result.
