I had this same problem; tried all the stuff in the FAQ's with no change. However, MJ did burn correctly before I reloaded my rig. I knew it was something that I had not installed before that was causing the problem. I've been using external IDE controllers ever since my first 4X burner. What I remembered is an old problem with IDE drivers w/ UDMA conflicts (DVD Rom Playback). The problem was indeed my SIS IDE drivers that I installed from the Asus site. Prior to rolling these back I could select "Generic Driver"; after rebooting I could no longer select it. Works great now!
