How to best cut/save separate tracks from one wav

If I record one big wav, from say a vinyl lp, what is the best way to cut and save individual portions?  I assume Media Editor can help do this.

Editing extremely large files is tedious at best.

It would be better to let the recorder separate the files into tracks.  It's automatic.

A deceptively simple application, inexpensive, it works really well.

Haven't tried polderbits but I might. EAC works well but it's tedious. It might save time to rerecord using the file splitter in MJ. There used to be an album look-up service for vinyl and tapes. I don't know if it's still there after YADB but it makes things easier.

Look like you can do it with MJ.
With DBPowerAmp if you put the time of the songs,you get one file for each time you have fill in.
Again it is something you may be able to do with MJ as well.
I never tried to find out.
I konw about DBPowerAmp because it is on they site

Polderbits will take one wav file (of a whole album even) and find the gaps for you.  It can let you verify each gap, or just chop it.

It now supports MP3 files as well, I believe.

I was trying to find the ref to a program I used to use to fill out vinyl/tape recordings I used to do.  I'm sure it has now become Psychic MP3.  It would allow you to type in the Artist/Album, then choose from a shortlist, select the correct album.  All the details would go in as per the format you wanted (Artist-Album-Track#-Name etc).

Anyway, check out Psychic MP3.  It is unbelievable the amount of time it saves getting track data for MP3s.
Say you get some files making up an album from someone, that has not used a decent naming system.

A couple of clicks, and all the details are there.

can automatically/manually split a WAV file into parts:
