CCF file problem
« on: February 23, 2005, 07:25:18 am »

The CCF file included in Data\Extras\Girder with MC10 or MC11 does
not appear to contain anything useful. I've loaded it in CCF explorer and
the marantz RC5000i setup app and there is nothing in the ccf.

I also cannot load the file into netremote (invalid ccf error).

How does one go about using this file?

Thanks

Don't bother as it's years out of date.  Go to www.promixis.com and download the latest version of NR.  The default CCF that comes with NR has been specifically designed for use with MC10/11 as has OpusNR which is available from teh downloads section.

What I really want to do is to learn IR codes into my Niles Intellipads and
Logitech harmony remotes so that I can control Media Centre via my
USB-UIRT and Girder from remote rooms.

So, I was hoping that this ccf (or some other ccf) could be loaded onto
my old Marantz RC5000 remote so that I can then learn the commands
into other remotes.

I already use netremote with a PocketPC and some laptops to control
media centre, but I really want to integrate IR control into the Intellipads
for "turnkey" operation.

Hmmmm....

I haven't downloaded a new build of MC for quite a while, but when I contributed the GML/CCF combo, they were 'complete.' By that I mean that the CCF contained panels full of IR codes that matched the GML.

However, the CCF was created on a Marantz 5200, so I don't have any idea if it would be backwards compatible with the 5000i. The version included with MC10 seems to open fine in TouchScreenSetup. All the IR codes are included in the 'Macros' section of the CCF.

Another possibility for opening the CCF would be to use the freeware java editor 'Tonto'. I believe it also allows you to convert between models fairly easily (it's what I use the majority of the time, since I normally use a Macintosh). See http://giantlaser.com/tonto/ for details.

Hope this helps,

Awesome. Tonto was the way to go. I loaded up the ccf, converted it to RC5000
format and it loaded up right away into the Marantz. Didn't even have to learn
the commands into Girder. Simply had to replace "Media Jukebox.exe" with
"Media Center.exe" in the gml file and everything magically works. Now I
can control Media Center from my Niles Intellipad. Very slick.

Well, things are better but not perfect. I cannot get the mjextman commands
to work reliably from Girder. The SendMessage commands work ok. I was
hoping to use the /PlayReplace treepath=Playlists\MyList  command, but
I cannot figure out how to create an equivalent SendMessage command.

There isn't an equivalent SendMessage command for the TREEPATH commandline parameters. All I can point you at (without more information) is the Developer's Documentation:

http://www.jrmediacenter.com/DevZone/CommandLine.html

Again, this works very reliably for me....
