Sony is releasing a new portable device that is a game player but also will probably challenge the iPod.

I saw one this week and it's a beauty.  The 4 inch screen is stunning.  It will have games and movies available on a new disc format, called Universal Media Disc.  The disc stores 1.8GB and is smaller than a CD, about the size of the Sony Mini-Disc, but a different shape.  Here's more on the disc format:
