USB Sound Cards
« on: March 09, 2005, 11:36:59 am »

Any recommendations for external USB soundcards that work well with MC, so that I can use a laptop for multi-zone output.

I'm using a soundblaster Live external USB that has several output and input options including digital optical.  Probably something better out there, but it's cheap $35 and I think the sound is great thru my home stereo.

Also use it on an outside setup with another laptop and it's been rained on and still works!  ha..ha.

Thanks, I've seen good reviews on this card.  Can the audio outputs be split into 2 or more (stereo only) zones via MC for a multi-zone setup?

Check out M-Audio.

They have two USB products that might work for you--Transit--and their USB Audiophile, also available in a Firewire version.

I don't know about the zones issue. But somebody else here can help you with that.
