Interact date?
« on: September 22, 2002, 04:09:49 am »

How's the message post date working? Is it set to a specific time zone or not? Just wondering because since you guys a JRiver is in the U.S. and I'm in Sweden, the date should show the correct date for one of us...but it doesn't!

It's of course a minor thing, but still...:)

The time stamp is our time and it is correct.

We're Central Time Zone and it is still Daylight time here.

You can set an offset in your profile.  I'm not sure.  Try +1 (relative to GMT) or +7 (relative to CDT).  I think it will be +7.  We're still trying to work it out.  I suppose we could read the manual.

Hi Marty3d,

You've the same time in Göteborg as here in Brussels - the offset is 07.

i wonder if there is a way for the forum to read the users clock time and automaticly adjust it.

or when a user logs in and in the profile that a program can run to get the clock tome and automaticly adjust the forum clock.

No there's not, but if a user enters (which I noticed, isn't available here) which country she/he's from, then you can set their country's time zone automatically...that's what I do on my latest board creation :)

Wow...I thought USA "only" had three...:) well...what about a combined version then? Then again, I believe that Europeans can be about as ignorant about USA as USA is about Europe :) But that's another story...

Find out the time difference between Minneapolis local time (J Rivers headquarter) and your home town here:

For Central Europe it is 7 hours!

When ever I use Interact Forum, all of the dates show up as mm/dd/yy. No numbers just the format.  I used search to find an answer, but no luck.

Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks,

Murph

I used to have a seiko watch that showed 2 time zones, but since you can only live in one time zone at a time, I don't know what good it really was.

Thanks Bob,

Your answer worked just fine.  I have been around since before MC 8 (I'm old and can't remember) and have been looking at many mm/dd/yy's.

One learns something new everyday!!!

Thanks again,
