PNG file format?
« on: June 22, 2003, 01:27:37 pm »

Will media center be capable of supporting the PNG graphics format?  I use a lot of PNG pictures on my website as well as sites I design.  This would be a very useful feature for me :-).

In the meantime, is there a way to force MC to add PNG files to it's database as well as generate thumbnails of them?

Thanks!

Testify!

I just noticed that now. PNG is a major format (and it's lesser known siblings MNG & JNG). I do a lot of stuff in 8 bit and 24 bit png. It's the best lossless format out there (next to TIF's).

O PNG, where art thou?

Searched for PNG ... found this ... has there been any change since 2003?
Is there a list of supported filetypes somewhere?

 :-[

Yes but they did not auto-import alongside my jpg and tif

I was able to go to the file and import it via the context menu though

Probably my fault, I will play a little further

BTW where are image tags stored? How do they realte to photoshop meta data? or are the tags internal database only?

You may not have checked the PNG file type during import.  File types are under "advanced".
