MC11 Startup Window
« on: April 27, 2005, 08:26:00 am »

Just installed MC11.  How do I control the size and position of the Startup Window on my desktop?

It's the same as any other Windows application.  Drag it around by gripping the top of the window, and resize by adjusting the corners.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.  I have no problem sizing and moving the Window once its opened.  My problem relates to the size and the location of the window when the program first starts.  It always come up on the far left of my desktop, is very narrow and is as long as my entire library, which is the startup mode I selected.

Try uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling.

Please copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here next time you post.

On all of my systems it remembers the size/shape/position of however it was when it was last closed.

Assuming un/reinstalling doesn't help...

Do you have any programs running that move/modify window position on your computer?  For example, I know some "dual display" manager programs move and resize windows (so that you can maximize to the full desktop and so that dialog boxes don't come up overtop the "seam" between the screens).  If not, do you have any Window Wiper - type cleaners that are running on your system (erasing cookies and tracking data and whatnot)?  If I'm not mistaken, this is managed by Windows and is stored in the registry somewhere...

As was suggested I deleted MC11 and then downloaded and installed the latest MC11 build (MC110250).  My startup window problem has disappeared.  Hope every other problem is solved as easily.
Thank you all.
